Press Release: St.Peter’s Naalya (SPENA) Launches Silver Jubilee Insignia as it Celebrates 25 Years of Excellence

St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School Naalya (SPENA), a beacon of educational excellence, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Silver Jubilee Insignia, commemorating 25 years of passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

The Silver Jubilee Insignia represents a significant milestone in the school’s journey towards shaping young minds and empowering future leaders. Symbolising its resilience, innovation, and community spirit, the insignia embodies the values that have guided the school for the past 25 years.

Speaking at the anniversary launch press conference held at the school campus today to kickstart the five-month-long celebrations, the St. Peter’s S.S.S Headteacher, Madam Gift Turyasingura, expressed her pride in the school’s achievements.

“We are immensely proud of our journey and the impact we have made in the field of education over the past 25 years. Our commitment to quality education, academic excellence, and the personal development of our students has been the cornerstone of our success. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to fostering an environment that inspires academic achievement, self improvement and life-long learning ,” said Madam Turyasingura.

The school has lined up a series of activities leading up to its 25th anniversary on November 16, 2024. The celebrations will have commenced with a grand unveiling of the insignia. On August 2, 2024 the school shall host a prestigious fundraising Gala dinner to raise funds for the construction of a multi-purpose hall at the school. The event shall take place at the prestigious Aquarius Resort Hotel in Kigo and it promises to be a memorable gathering of distinguished guests, alumni, staff, and well-wishers, coming together to honour the institution’s past achievements and celebrate the promising future ahead.

Following the Gala Dinner, the main Silver Jubilee celebrations will continue on November 16,  2024, at the school premises. This day will be filled with nostalgic reflections, exciting activities, and a heart-warming sense of community as we look back on 25 years of educational excellence.

The President of the SPENA Celebrations Committee, Mr. Clement Kavutse Muhire noted that the celebrations are aimed at reaffirming the school’s transformational journey while recognising and acknowledging all the stakeholders whose support have propelled the school to its glory.

“A journey of 25 years is indeed worth celebrating. I therefore implore the general public, staff, alumni, and all well-wishers to be a part of these significant celebrations. Join us as we rejoice in the journey that has shaped St. Peter’s Naalya into the esteemed institution it is today. We look forward to sharing this special moment with you and celebrating 25 years of excellence together,” said Mr. Muhire.

In 2020, St. Peter’s Naalya was ranked No. 2 in the number of university intakes, cementing its reputation as one of the best-performing academic institutions in Uganda. As the school celebrates its outstanding 25 years of excellence, there is much more to look forward to and even more to celebrate.

About St Peter’s S.S.S Naalya

St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School – Naalya is a mixed secondary boarding school founded on Christian principles in 1998 and located in Kampala, Uganda. The school offers education to thousands of learners from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Rwanda. The school currently boasts of over 2000 learners and has taught close to a million students over its 25 years of existence.

Registered by the Ministry of Education under Centre No. U0896, St. Peter’s Naalya provides both Arts and Sciences for O level and A Level classes, qualifying students for UCE and UACE Certificates of Education respectively by UNEB upon completion.
